Next CBSSM seminar to explore patent systems
All Michigan Medicine faculty and staff are invited to the next talk in the seminar series hosted by the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine (CBSSM)!
The talk is entitled “Patent Politics: Life Forms, Markets, and the Public Interest in the United States and Europe.” It will be given by Shobita Parthasarathy, Ph.D., professor of public policy and women’s studies and director of the Science, Technology and Public Policy Program at U-M.
Parthasarathy will explore how patent systems can be used to govern the moral and socioeconomic dimensions of emerging genetics and biotechnology.
