Free old time piano concert offered today

Jerry Perrine will play a free concert today, Jan. 2.

Jerry Perrine has performed his music throughout Southeastern Michigan for nearly 40 years. In addition to his piano playing, vocals and original compositions, he tells background stories of the classic American piano styles of ragtime, early jazz, blues and boogie-woogie.

His concerts span the decades between the 1890s and the 1930s. Perrine is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and through his many years of music, he has been certified as a Choctaw Artist.

He has played at the Michigan Jazz Festival and the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, among others. And today, he will play a free concert at Michigan Medicine. Look for livestream video on the Gifts of Art Facebook page.
