The team behind Giving Blueday 2019.

Today is Giving Blueday, U-M’s special day of giving, and an annual opportunity for you to team up with the global U-M family to share your love for all things maize and blue.

Thousands of Wolverines — including faculty, alumni, students, patients, staff and friends — come together each year on Giving Blueday to make gifts to the university, generating impactful support for programs, scholarships and research.

Last year, more than 12,000 gifts were made in just 24 hours, raising nearly $3.5 million and providing key funding for over 150 student organizations.

There are many ways to make a difference at Michigan Medicine: You may choose to support a patient care initiative in your department, the research of a colleague or a program that helps medical students on their paths to becoming the next generation of brilliant physicians. Gifts of every size are helpful — and your gift could go even further through donor and social media challenges that multiply impact.

There are many ways to get involved and be part of the global U-M community on Giving Blueday:

  • Give: Make a gift to support your favorite cause within Michigan Medicine or to any U-M fund that aligns with your passions. Every dollar counts!
  • Spread the word: Give your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts a #GivingBlueday makeover by sharing images throughout the day. If you make a gift, let others know and encourage them to do the same.
  • Thank a friend: Post to social media using #GivingBlueday to recognize a health care professional or thank a friend or community member who made a gift.
  • Follow along: Search #GivingBlueday on social media to follow the fun throughout the day.
