Every Michigan Medicine employee is immensely talented — both at the academic medical center and when they head home.

To recognize some of those unique abilities, Gifts of Art holds an Employee Art Exhibition each year.

The latest exhibition is up at the Taubman Center through Dec. 6. It featured 84 pieces of art created by 57 faculty, staff, students, volunteers and family members.

Recently, Gifts of Art gave out its annual awards to the artwork that stood out most, as juried by Jim Leija, deputy director for public experience and learning at the U-M Museum of Art.

For instance, Best in Show went to Shannon Vandervennet of pediatrics administration, for her work entitled Great Power, Great Responsibility.

Also recognized was the People’s Choice winner, Harley Hardin from the UH operating rooms, for a piece called Skully McSkullface.

Congratulations to Shannon, Harley and all of this year’s winners, who are listed below. Be sure to check out their work in the photo gallery above or at Taubman Center through Dec. 6!
