Another ‘A’: Michigan Medicine again earns top marks for patient safety

November 7, 2019  //  FOUND IN: News

Thank you, faculty and staff, for the efforts you have made to keep patients as safe as possible at Michigan Medicine!

Earlier today, the organization was once again recognized for its impressive performance, earning an “A” from The Leapfrog Group for patient safety.

Michigan Medicine is one of only 36 hospitals nationwide — out of approximately 2,600 graded — to have earned that distinction in every grading update since it debuted in 2012.

To come up with its ratings, Leapfrog measures infection rates, problems during and after surgery, practices in place to prevent errors, safety issues, communication and staffing levels, among other things.
