You’re invited: LGBTQ+ Awareness course

Michigan Medicine is launching a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion course and the first public session will take place on Oct. 25 from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in Danto Auditorium at the Frankel Cardiovascular Center.

This class, entitled “LGBTQ+ Awareness,” will cover such issues as:

• Exploring our own identities and the identities of those in the LGBTQ+ community
• Learning terminology and concepts relating to sexual orientation, gender expression and gender identity
• Raising awareness around common health issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community
• Ways you can help create an LBGTQ+ inclusive space
