Workshop: Recruiting to improve diversity and excellence

October 18, 2019  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

The medical school’s STRIDE Committee provides information and advice about practices that will maximize the likelihood that diverse, well-qualified candidates for faculty, fellowship and residency positions will be identified, and, if selected for offers, recruited to U-M.

The committee leads workshops for faculty and administrators involved in selection, recruitment and hiring. Much of the information is also relevant to retention and promotion of these individuals as well.

STRIDE training:

  • Has involved dozens of senior faculty members from across campus
  • Looks at a decade of reading the research and thinking about its application to faculty searches
  • Provides Michigan-specific best practices and successful approaches to effective searching

This workshop will assist those who wish to recruit and subsequently hire diverse, well-qualified candidates for faculty, fellowship and residency positions.

Date: Tuesday, Nov. 12 (Alternative dates available; please see registration page)

Time: 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. (Breakfast provided)

Location: BSRB Seminar Rooms, first floor
