Welcome PolicyStat, the transition to making policies easier to find and use

Having difficulty looking for a policy? In just a few weeks, finding a policy will start to look different.

Michigan Medicine leadership has initiated an effort to build a new framework for the development, approval and maintenance of all policies, procedures and guidelines (PP&G).

This initiative was born out of frustration with the current PP&G landscape, and represents a positive change for everyone who uses PP&Gs.

On Sept. 3, Michigan Medicine will officially begin transitioning all of the policies, procedures and guidelines over to a new website, utilizing a document-management software application called PolicyStat.

The current PP&G website will be transformed into a landing page that will provide links to PolicyStat and other information you will need.

Of course, there will be plenty of help and guidance when the new page is launched! The new website will include training resources and FAQs, and the new PolicyStat portal. In addition, the PolicyStat Learning Center has an extensive Knowledge Base of information and resources, including on-demand webinars and interactive tutorials. 

What is PolicyStat?

PolicyStat is a web-based tool that will provide on-demand access to all policies, procedures, guidelines and other important documentation staff and faculty need to do their jobs.

The Office of Corporate Compliance is working with policy administrators across Michigan Medicine to gradually consolidate the 60+ websites that currently house PP&G into a single “one-stop shop” for policies, procedures and guidelines.

This transition is also in alignment with Michigan Medicine’s journey to high reliability. By having one centralized location for all policies, procedures and guidelines, it will create a stronger safety culture where employees are the first line of defense against mishaps and errors.

What to expect

• The current Policies, Procedures and Guidelines website will no longer be the source for central Michigan Medicine policies.

• Central policies, procedures and guidelines will now be available only in PolicyStat, as will documents from many departments that have also made the transition.

• Users can login to PolicyStat from any Internet connection using their Level-2 login credentials. Click here to login.

• Existing hyperlinks to policies will be forwarded to PolicyStat.
