Toad Data Point Professional upgrade rescheduled to Wednesday, Aug. 7

Health Information Technology & Services has rescheduled the upgrade of Toad Data Point Professional to version 5.0 for Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Users will need to close all queries by 9 p.m. Expected improvements include better performance, increased security and fixed bugs.

Any CoreImage Michigan Medicine computer that has Toad Data Point Professional 4.3 installed will be automatically upgraded to version 5.0. Toad Data Point Professional is not available for Macs.

As part of version 5.0’s increased security, Michigan Medicine users may be required to create an account with Quest using the “@med.umich.edu” email address. If account creation is required, a dialog box will appear the first time version 5.0 is opened.

Anyone who wishes to use Toad Data Point Professional who does not have an “@med.umich.edu” email address will need to purchase the product directly by contacting Quest at 800-306-9329.

As part of the upgrade, the desktop icon for version 4.3 will be removed and replaced with two icons for version 5.0. One icon is for the application itself and is called “Toad Data Point 5.0.” The second icon, “Toad Workbook 5.0,” is for the Workbook feature. The Toad Data Point Professional interface will be the same. Users will need to reestablish database connections in version 5.0. 

New features include:

• Build and save custom workflows to query data, generate result sets, and produce reports
• In a Workbook, a change to an initial query is automatically applied to subsequent tasks
