Raisin Pickers to play free folk, bluegrass concert at Michigan Medicine

The Raisin Pickers will play a free concert on Thursday.
The Raisin Pickers are a Manchester-based string band that plays rustic Appalachian, old time swing, bluegrass and Louisiana music.
Carol Wells Palms is a classically-trained string bass player; Mark Palms (banjo, fiddle, guitar, accordion) is a composer, player and proponent of American musical heritage; Billy King plays guitar; and they all sing.
They were the first-place winner in the Appalachian Stringband Festival Non-Traditional Band Contest in West Virginia.
On Thursday, they’ll play a free concert as part of the Michigan Medicine Gifts of Art Summer Courtyard Concert Series. Look for live stream video of the concert on the Gifts of Art Facebook page.
