11W earns another 365 Days of Safety Award
Congratulations to the faculty and staff of 11W for their work to champion patient safety at Michigan Medicine!
The unit recently earned a 365 Days of Safety Award for going another full year without a CLABSI (Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infection).
This is the team’s third CLABSI award in a row, meaning they have avoided such an infection for three straight years. Their effective safety practices were put in place following a thorough and rigorous review of the necessity of access lines — in the end reducing unnecessary exposure days for patients.
The 365 Days of Safety Award program recognizes outstanding practice within a patient care unit, area, clinic or department which resulted in the avoidance of patient harm and health care-acquired conditions for 365 consecutive days. The award also demonstrates the sustainability of the associated patient safety practice, as demonstrated by 11W.
