PCTU celebrated for commitment to patient safety

June 17, 2019  //  FOUND IN: Our Employees

The PCTU recently earned a few patient safety honors!

First, the unit was lauded for going two full years without a CAUTI. For those efforts, the team received its second straight 365 Days of Safety Award from the organization.

The 365 Days of Safety Award program recognizes outstanding practice within a patient care unit, area, clinic or department which resulted in the avoidance of patient harm and health care-acquired conditions for 365 consecutive days. The award also demonstrates the sustainability of the associated patient safety practice.

On top of that recognition, the PCTU was celebrated for going a full year with extremely high marks for hand hygiene compliance.

Congratulations to the unit for its commitment to keeping patients safe at Michigan Medicine!
