Photo gallery: Nursing community shares stories, successes during Nurses Week kick-off event
Last Friday, members of the Michigan Medicine nursing community came together to celebrate at the first-ever Nurses Week kick-off event!
During the festivities, interim Chief Nurse Executive Nancy May, C&W Chief Nursing Officer Jesus Cepero, and UH/CVC Chief Nursing Officer Devin Carr delivered remarks and shared their story of how they became nurses. May also shared successes that the organization’s nursing team have accomplished this year.
Shortly after, the Spiritual Care Department performed a Blessing of the Hands ceremony, which is a non-denominational blessing for any nurse who wanted to participate. The department will be going to units around the academic medical center all week to perform the blessing.
Finally, the event gave all team members a chance to mingle, network and share their own thoughts and stories.
