Please join us in congratulating Paul Loik on his retirement this month. Paul joined UH/CVC Respiratory Care in May of 1989 as a respiratory therapist upon completion of his degree from Mott College. Later in 1995/96, he was promoted to the role of the clinical specialist for Neuro and Thoracic ICUs until the CVC opened when he then became dedicated solely to the cardio-vascular intensive care unit. Throughout Paul’s career, he was instrumental in developing numerous policies and procedures, and took an interest in clinical research subsequently co-authoring several papers. In 2006, he achieved certification credentials by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals as a clinical research coordinator. During the closing years with Michigan Medicine, Paul assumed the role as a clinical analyst to continue his ambition in research and clinical outcome measures. For his retirement celebration, Paul has chosen to hold that as a private event among department staff only. In light of this, please join us in recognition of his career and the many contributions to Respiratory Care here at Michigan Medicine. Paul can be reached through his UM email at Congratulations and GO BLUE!!!
