Week in Review: Week of April 8, 2019
The week began with a preview of the Employee Appreciation Breakfast and Dinner, giving readers plenty to “chew on” over the past few days!
In addition to highlighting the April 17 event, the faculty and staff on 8E were featured for their dedication to protecting patient safety; colleagues were recognized for making a difference last month; and Headlines unveiled the latest in its Acronym of the Month series.

You’re invited: Employee Appreciation Breakfast and Dinner
Next Wednesday, employees will be treated to breakfast and dinner, thanks to the Michigan Medicine leadership team. At the UH Café, faculty and staff will be able to grab some tasty treats, pose in a photo booth and have a blast with their colleagues. Those who work at off-site locations will also have lunches scheduled over the next few weeks. Click here for details!
Teamwork pays off for faculty, staff and patients on 8 East
The team on 8 East is exactly that — a team. And their commitment to working together has led to unmatched success when it comes to patient outcomes and limiting harm events. Learn more about 8E’s efforts, which have helped the team earn seven 365 Days of Safety awards — more than any other unit at Michigan Medicine! As a bonus, Carol Kristofik, clinical nursing director of 8E, was a guest on this week’s episode of The Wrap, which can be found at the top of the page!
