Rewrite the Script Educational Series event to discuss ‘Pain Taxonomy: Back to the Basics’

All Michigan Medicine faculty and staff are invited to the next event in the Rewrite the Script Educational Series, “Pain Taxonomy: Back to the Basics.”

With growing emphasis on reducing opioid medications to treat pain, it is increasingly important that accurate knowledge of pain, its mechanisms and which treatments are appropriate for a given pain diagnosis.

Join Dan Clauw, M.D., professor of anesthesiology and psychiatry and director of the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center, and Eric Scott, Ph.D., associate professor of anesthesiology, as they discuss current, scientifically informed models and taxonomies of pain commonly encountered in practice and point to treatments for these conditions.
