Celebrate Medical Laboratory Professionals Week!

April 24, 2019  //  FOUND IN: Our Employees

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (MLPW) originated in 1975 in an effort to raise public understanding and appreciation of the impact of the laboratory as it relates to a patient’s diagnosis and care.

It is also critical for the public to understand the quality and professional accountability the lab has as it relates to the patient. Laboratorians play a vital role as a member of the health care team.

MLPW is being held from April 21-27 and in celebration, the Department of Pathology will be providing free lab tours on Friday, April 26 that begin in the specimen processing area at 2UH.

Each tour lasts about 30 minutes. Click here for a schedule of tours and more information.

And thank you to all of Michigan Medicine’s lab professionals for their excellence every day!
