The U-M Division of Public Safety and Security uses multiple methods to communicate with the campus community in the case of an emergency, including email to all addresses, text messages, phone calls, links from the U-M homepage, alerts via the Michigan and DPSS apps, and the DPSS twitter account (@umichdpss).

Please recognize that the only authoritative information during an emergency is communication coming from DPSS.

To make sure everyone is able to receive emergency alerts in every way possible, please sign up for emergency alerts:

  • Input your mobile number into Wolverine Access from DPSS’ emergency alert page. Emergency alert texts and phone calls cannot be made without this crucial information.
    • Please note, it is helpful to sign up for both text messages and phone call alerts.
