Safe medication disposal event coming to Michigan Medicine

A safe medication disposal event is coming to Michigan Medicine on Tuesday, April 2.

This biannual event is hosted by the U-M College of Pharmacy. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on April 2, unused and expired medications can be dropped off for environmentally-safe disposal.

During previous events, students have collected more than one ton of medication, keeping potentially harmful substances out of water, landfills and the wrong hands. New this year, sharps and sharps containers will be accepted.

Here’s what you need to know:

When: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 2

Where: There will be two collection sites, at Michigan Medicine and on Central Campus

Michigan Medicine: Towsley Triangle

Central Campus: Ingalls Mall North (On Washington St. across from Rackham Auditorium)
