The next MiChart upgrade is planned for Sunday, April 14. This will be one of two planned upgrades for 2019 with a goal to reduce downtime duration and impact to the organization. The second upgrade is scheduled for October 2019.

The April upgrade will include updates, system maintenance and new features to the MiChart application. Some of the notable enhancements include:

  • Inpatient Nursing and Allied Health providers will be able to review, assess, add and remove Lines, Drains, and Airways (LDA) with the interactive LDA Avatar.
  • Streamlined Care Plan documentation for Inpatient Nursing with ability to document details all on the same screen and “pend” summary notes.
  • Providers will have the option of integrating their clinic and surgery case schedules with their Outlook/Exchange calendars and setting up Push Notifications for InBasket messages in Haiku and Canto.

Practice environment

To prepare for new features within the upgrade, MiChart users are invited to attend the Practice Environment where they can test their daily workflows in an upgraded environment. This is available through Virtual Places.

Select the Epic MiChart Upgrade Practice Environment icon to log in. Detailed instructions for accessing the practice environment, including login and patient information, can be found on the Practice Environment webpage. Training materials are available beginning today.
