Patient Experience Learning Forum: Mental Health Stigma – Understanding the Impact on Patients and Families

Date

Wednesday, March 20, 2019

Time

1:30pm - 3:00pm

Location

Danto Auditorium

Description

Patients and families with mental health diagnoses often experience stigma in their journey through the healthcare system.

We hope you’ll join us for an engaging discussion with providers, patients, and families about the experience of that stigma, and ultimately opportunities to combat that stigma and improve the experience for all patients and families. Dr. Victor Hong and Paula Kramer will share the initial overview and background of this stigma, including origins of stigma and populations impacted, and will facilitate a patient and family panel to learn more about their experiences. Ultimately, the presentation, panel, and audience will aim to discuss opportunities for combating this stigma and improving the experience for patients and families.

Social Work & Nursing continuing education credits are available. Please see the Office of Patient Experience website for more details.
