Next CBSSM seminar to focus on inter-system medical error discovery
The next Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine will focus on “Inter-system medical error discovery: A patient safety blind spot.”
The talk will be delivered by Lesly Dossett, M.D., M.P.H., assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology.
Dossett will discuss what physicians should do when they discover another physician’s error. The research focuses on the practical and ethical challenges of communicating about another physician’s error, particularly when that physician works in another hospital system and the error is unknown to the patient and responsible provider.
Check out the seminar from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 at the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine (2800 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor).
