Free exercise class for beginners starts this month

MHealthy offers a free 30-minute class for qualified faculty and staff who want to get moving and gradually add physical activity back into their life.

“Simple Steps for Health” is designed to gradually add physical activity back into your life.

Each participant receives a free pre- and post-fitness consultation. Class meets twice a week for 15 weeks through April 21.


  • KMS: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. – noon
  • Wolverine Tower: Tuesdays at 7 a.m. and Thursdays at 7:30 a.m.

 Participant criteria:

  • Sedentary lifestyle: Desk job with no regular exercise for three months or more
  • A history of minor health issues is okay

If you don’t qualify for one of these classes, remember, registration is now open for more than 100 winter MHealthy exercise and relaxation classes. Classes are open to all at the university as well as the general public. The winter session runs through Apr. 21. View class schedule.
