Don’t forget: Give a high-five to high-performing hand hygiene units at upcoming celebration event!
Next week, Michigan Medicine will come together to recognize the highest performing units when it comes to hand hygiene compliance.
A special event will be held on Monday, Dec. 17 in the Dow Auditorium and will celebrate the 19 most successful units who have achieved Hand Hygiene compliance for 12 consecutive months!
The event will be hosted by Jeff Desmond, M.D., chief medical officer, and Ann Scanlon McGinity, Ph.D., R.N., FAAN, chief nurse executive.
“All of our faculty and staff have done an incredible job making patient safety a top priority, and hand hygiene is a major component to that,” said Desmond. “It’s our pleasure to be able to recognize those who have stood out over the past year and give them the congratulations and kudos they deserve.”
All Michigan Medicine employees are invited to attend the festivities — and anyone who does will be entered into a raffle to win one of four Amazon gift cards.
A drawing will also be held for the 19 units, with 1st prize earning $1,000, and two other prizes of $500 each.
The 19 units with exemplary hand hygiene compliance since December 2017 include:
- C&W (Pediatrics)
- Brandon NICU
