Dr. Katie Kindt will be in town on Thursday, December 6, to present her HBCS seminar, Using Zebrafish to Light Up Hair-Cell Synapse Formation and Function.  She is Acting Chief for the Section on Sensory Cell Development and Function at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD).  The seminar will be held at 11:45 a.m. in Room 2901, Taubman Health Sciences Library.  Dr. Michael Roberts is her host.  Refreshments will be served.  All are welcome.

Dr. Kindt joined the NIDCD as an investigator in 2013. In 2016 she received a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government upon outstanding scientists and engineers beginning their independent careers. Her laboratory utilizes microscopy-based methods to examine function and development of the auditory system in zebrafish.
