Over the past few days, readers learned about a unique survey that allowed patients, families and employees to give timely feedback at the Rogel Cancer Center and radiation oncology clinic. Employees also met Pam Beatty Cupitt, an administrative manager who has been dedicated to the organization for 50 years; Senior Director of Quality Linnea Chervenak, M.H.A., stopped by to share her advice to aspiring leaders; and faculty and staff were lauded for Making a Difference last month.

Breaking the rules for better care

Fabulous 50: Administrative manager celebrated for half a century at Michigan Medicine
Pam Beatty Cupitt arrived at Michigan Medicine in 1968 — one year after graduating high school and at a time when typewriters sat on every desk. A lot has changed since then, including her role, as she began as a ward clerk and now serves as an administrative manager in the U-M Medical School. Learn Cupitt’s story as she prepares to be honored at the upcoming Service Awards dinner on Oct. 29.

Since its inception in 2016, Linnea Chervenak, M.H.A., has teamed with Chief Quality Officer Steve Bernstein to help develop and carve out a role for the Quality Department at Michigan Medicine.
