Seminar to focus on using systems engineering to improve clinical decision-making
All Michigan Medicine employees are invited to the next seminar hosted by the Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine.
The seminar — entitled “Peri-endoscopy Antithrombotic Management: Using Systems Engineering to Improve Clinical Decision-Making” — will touch on surgical procedures, such as gastrointenstinal endoscopy, which present management challenges for patients taking chronic antithrombic medications.
Following an in-depth analysis of current practices, Geoffrey Barnes, M.D., reorganized care delivery to standardize clinical decision-making for these patients using health systems engineering and implementation science methods.
He will share his experiences on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. at NCRC, Building 16.
