Safely dispose of medications at on-campus event

Plan to take part in the next Safe Medication Disposal Event hosted by the U-M College of Pharmacy.

At the bi-annual event, unused and expired medications are collected for environmentally-safe disposal.

There will be two collection sites this year, one on the Michigan Medicine campus and one on Central Campus.

When: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4

Locations: Towsley Triangle at Michigan Medicine; Ingalls Mall on Central Campus

Accepted items: Prescription and OTC medications, medication samples, vitamins, ointments and lotions, inhalers, antibiotics, steroids, veterinary medicine and controlled medications.

Unaccepted items: Sunscreen, insect repellent, cosmetics, hair care or personal hygiene products, hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol, aerosol cans, blood or infectious waste, tobacco and sharps containers.
