Kick off the season in style: Nominate the superstars in your unit or department!

This Saturday, the U-M football team will come back to the Big House, ready to kick off its home schedule against Western Michigan. Despite dropping their season opener at Notre Dame, the Wolverines still have their eyes on a successful season, led by quarterback Shea Patterson and a powerful defense full of superstars who hope to help carry the team to a Big Ten title.

Off the field, the university — and Michigan Medicine, in particular — finds success each day thanks to superstars in every unit and department.

Headlines wants to know which colleagues you consider your team superstars and MVPs! Email nominations to headlines@med.umich.edu. The submissions will be entered into a raffle to win cool prizes, such as movie passes and Michigan Medicine swag!

You can nominate anyone you’d like, from a coworker who recently earned recognition — such as Caren Stalberg, M.D., who was lauded as a “Family Favorite” by Ann Arbor Family magazine — to an entire team, such as Michigan-OPEN, which was honored for outstanding work by the Greater Detroit Area Health Council.

Or just pass along your kudos to a colleague who delivers high-quality care or services to patients and families on a daily basis. After all, it’s everyone’s hard work and dedication that makes Michigan Medicine a global destination for high-quality health care, education and research.

Email your entry by Wednesday, Sept. 12 and stay tuned as some of the top entries will be featured in an upcoming edition of Headlines. And if you happen to have a photo of your colleagues — or choose to snap one — even better! They could be included in an accompanying photo gallery, as well.
