Week in Review: Week of Aug. 6, 2018
The week at Headlines featured the acronym of the month — and a theme of the week! That’s right, many of the featured stories centered on one word: “celebrate.”
For instance, faculty and staff were invited to celebrate with their colleagues as the 2018 U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” rankings are revealed next Tuesday; incoming med students celebrated their arrival on campus during the White Coat Ceremony; and employees were celebrated by patients, families and coworkers for making a difference last month.

Rankings revealed: Come celebrate with the Michigan Medicine community
Next Tuesday, U.S. News & World Report will be revealing its 2018 “Best Hospitals” rankings. With the organization expected to fare well in the rankings, the organization is inviting all faculty and staff to a “reveal celebration” in the Dow Auditorium. Learn details of this exciting event, which will feature refreshments, treats, photos and more!
New pledge, white coats greet new medical students
For 169 new medical students, today ends their first week on campus. The week began with the annual White Coat Ceremony at Hill Auditorium, where for the first time, the incoming students took a pledge focusing on the elements of humanism in modern medicine.
