Increase in ‘tech support scams’ impacting Michigan Medicine users
Please be aware that there has been an uptick in online scams in recent months. All faculty and staff should learn where to find the latest news and what you can do to protect yourself at home and at Michigan Medicine.
The Safe Computing site has the latest news in phishing and security alerts.
The Tech Scam support page outlines some common issues and what to do about them.
You can report suspected scams by sending an email to ReportPhish@umich.edu.
If you believe you have received a phish attack or have clicked on links or disclosed your credentials, please report it to the HITS Service Desk for assistance and change your UMICH (Level 1) and/or Michigan Medicine (Level 2) password. Password resets can be made on the self-help portal.
