MiChart Citrix Receiver upgrade coming soon
Please be advised that beginning Monday, July 23 and going through Friday, Aug. 3, the Citrix Receiver (used to access sensitive data through a number of applications, such as MiChart) will be upgraded on all devices where it is currently installed.
Devices will be divided into 10 random deployment groups, and the upgrade installation will occur at 3 a.m. on a different day for each group. The deployment will prompt users before the installation is to take place, as it will require Citrix — and by extension, MiChart connections — to be closed. Users will be able to defer the upgrade for two nights before the system will force the workstation to upgrade.
- If the device is powered on at the time of the upgrade:
The upgrade will require a reboot of your device. If you are using MiChart when the installation is scheduled, you will need to save your work and close MiChart. Before the installation of the upgrade begins, there will be a 15-minute timer so that you can save and exit.
- If the device is not powered on at the time of the upgrade:
If your device is not powered on during the deployment window, it will receive the update the next time the device is connected
HITS discourages the use of shortcuts. This is because whenever software or applications are upgraded, any shortcut you may have created on your desktop or in a browser will no longer be valid or open to the correct location.
For more information on Citrix Receiver, including download instructions and which hosted applications are eligible, see the Accessing Hosted Applications from Outside the Michigan Medicine Network document. Also, if you have not had a chance to upgrade Citrix Receiver on your personally-owned device, please follow the directions in this document to do so.
