Healthy Eating Tip of the Month focuses on food allergies
This May, the Healthy Eating Tip display in the UH Cafeteria is in honor of Food Allergy Action Month. At the display, faculty and staff will find information on how to order food when eating out, recipes for comfort food made with dairy-free substitutes and how to get enough calcium with a milk allergy or lactose intolerance.
In the handout on calcium, visitors can learn about the recommended amount of calcium individuals need, as well as some plant-based sources of calcium, including broccoli, kale, arugula, almonds, chia seeds, black beans, garbanzo beans, blackstrap molasses, tofu and milk alternatives.
