Check out chamber music at University Hospital
All faculty, staff, patients and families are invited to attend a free concert featuring an ensemble from the U-M Life Sciences Orchestra (LSO).
The ensemble — which will perform Thursday from 12:10 p.m. until 1 p.m. in the UH lobby — includes concertmaster John-Michael Muller on violin, members Kathleen Bergen and Ellen Guise on flute, Carl Engelke on trumpet, Angie Noble on English horn and Téa Prokes on violin.
They are all part of the LSO, a program of Gifts of Art at Michigan Medicine, which provides performance opportunities for the many faculty, staff, students, scientists, volunteers and alumni in medical, health science and life science disciplines at the university who have previous musical training but few opportunities to play.
The musicians will perform works by Bach, Copland and Ewazen. Bobby Porter and Kathryn West will provide piano accompaniment.
