Michigan Medicine earns another ‘A’ for patient safety

Congratulations to Michigan Medicine, which has earned another patient safety honor! Earlier today, the organization received an “A” for its spring 2018 Hospital Safety Score.

The national report card, issued by the Leapfrog Group, places Michigan Medicine among the best hospitals in the U.S. in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. In fact, the organization has earned an A grade in every Leapfrog report since it began to be published twice a year in 2012.

The report card is intended to give patients a quick way to understand how well health care institutions are doing on a broad range of safety measures. Those measures look at everything from hand hygiene to communication about medicines and discharge information.

Data comes from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and secondary data services such as the American Hospital Association’s annual survey. Click here to learn more.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to keeping Michigan Medicine among the national leaders in patient safety!
