Update: Staircase to M29 parking lot set to reopen

Please be advised that the concrete staircase leading from the pit parking lot (M29) to East Medical Center Drive is scheduled to reopen to pedestrians on Sunday, April 1.

A maintenance project to replace the stairs has been ongoing and was designed to improve the safety and longevity of the staircase for those who park in M29.

“There have been several improvements made during the project,” said Steve Fisher, project manager for the maintenance work. “New gutters and drains should eliminate standing water on the stairs and landings, while concrete benches have been provided at most of the landings for sitting. Finally, new LED lighting has been installed to better light the stairway and provide improved safety and security.”
