UH showcases fun portraits by local artist

Based out of Chelsea, Michigan, John Pappas believes that if you can imagine a fun idea making sense, you should make it! He applies this to both his graphic design and fine art.

With so much to see and ruminate on in life, Pappas keeps his hands busy by putting pen to paper. His body of work consists of portraits drawn with ink on a variety of surfaces including paper, basswood and aspen panels in an offbeat pen and ink style that leans heavily on pointillism and crosshatching.

The subjects range from athletes to musicians to personal friends.
