Plan ahead and expect delays: US-23 maintenance work

Please be advised that upcoming maintenance work is expected to cause road and shoulder closures along US-23 next week.
Plan ahead and expect delays and alert patients if they will be traveling in the area.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Between 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, southbound US-23 from North Territorial Road to M-14 is scheduled to be closed. Drivers are encouraged to take westbound North Territorial Road to southbound Whitmore Lake Road to eastbound Barton Drive to eastbound M-14 to US-23.
- Between 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, east and westbound Joy Road at US-23 is expected to be closed. The detour includes taking Whitmore Lake Road to Warren Road to Gleaner Hall Road.
- The left shoulder of southbound US-23 at Joy Road is scheduled to be closed between 10 a.m. and 5 a.m. daily from Monday, Dec. 11 until Friday, Dec. 15. No detour will be posted.
- Following the project, Joy Road will likely be down to one lane utilizing a temporary traffic signal to maintain two-way traffic for approximately one month.
