It’s Corporate Compliance Week! Install AirWatch to protect patient data

November 10, 2017  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Michigan Medicine’s patients and study subjects share their personal health information with the organization and trust that it will be protected. Help honor their trust by installing AirWatch on the mobile devices used to access patients’ sensitive information through Michigan Medicine resources. AirWatch provides the required encryption and security necessary to safely access and protect these resources.

It is understood that people may have concerns about mobile device management tools like AirWatch. Rest assured, though, that AirWatch does not collect any data related to your phone calls, texts, location or web browsing. It only collects basic metrics such as battery life and cellular carrier.

AirWatch also tracks encryption and email policies applied to the device and any Michigan Medicine apps (like Haiku/Canto) installed on the device. AirWatch does not track the applications you install yourself. Personal data and work data are kept separate on mobile devices and data is wiped only if the device is lost or stolen. The customer has the option of wiping either work or personal data or both — again only after extensive confirmation.

For more information about AirWatch, contact the HITS Service Desk at 734-936-8000 or see the AirWatch Knowledgebase and related FAQs.

Remember – protect your patients by protecting their information!
