Compression stockings come in a variety of styles for men and women and can help prevent venous problems, leg swelling and tired aching legs. Compression legwear also helps alleviate tired heavy-feeling legs at the end of a long day. The Orthotics & Prosthetics Center recommends wearing compression even if you have no symptoms of varicose or spider veins.

New fabrics and weaving technology have revolutionized the compression market. There are now compression socks and stockings for most any occasion, including work, sports and formal dress. Colors and styles including sheer fabric, knee high, thigh high and pantyhose.
