Giving Blueday is underway: Support what you love at U-M

November 28, 2017  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources,

Two hundred years in the making, U-M’s tradition of giving back and making a difference continues today with the bicentennial edition of Giving Blueday.

One day. 24 hours: That’s 1,440 minutes to support what you love about U-M.

After a weekend of giving thanks — and perhaps a bit of snoozing and shopping — consider giving to one of Michigan Medicine’s 25 featured funds or whatever U-M cause or program aligns with your passions.

Gifts of every size make a difference — and your gift could go even further by attracting additional funds through special donor and social media challenges to multiply impact throughout the day. Visit givingblueday.org for details and follow along on social media.

Giving Blueday happens once a year on Giving Tuesday, a worldwide day of giving, but your gift today will have an impact for years to come. Join the global U-M community. Here are some ways to get involved:

  • Give a gift: Make a gift to support your favorite cause within Michigan Medicine (or elsewhere at U-M).
  • Spread the word: Give your social media accounts a #GivingBlueday makeover. Update your cover photo and profile photo with images available on the website. Share images on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram throughout the day.
  • Thank a friend: Post to social media using #GivingBlueday and recognize a health care professional, or give a shout-out to a friend or community member who gave a gift to U-M.
  • Follow along: The Giving Blueday team will be highlighting bicentennial milestones throughout the day for U-M’s virtual 200th birthday party. Search #GivingBlueDay on social media channels to keep up.

Be a victor and give for the future. Visit leadersandbest.umich.edu to give now or givingblueday.org to learn more.
