CVC Innovation Challenge names 2017 prize winners

Nearly a year in the making, the second annual Frankel Cardiovascular Center Clinical Innovation Challenge recently celebrated its winners at a special “Selection Event” at CVC.

More than 100 faculty, staff and guests attended the celebration, which brought the 2017 Clinical Innovation Challenge to a close. Guests and judges heard pitches from the challenge’s top five teams, all vying for one of two $100,000 prizes to fund an innovative project designed to improve and enhance clinical care.

Congratulations to the following teams, whose proposals were chosen as this year's winners!

VAD Certification Team: The team captured the $100K Value Innovation Prize for the proposed Michigan Medicine Certification for Ventricular Assist Device Care.

WHEELS for DASH team: The team earned the $100K Virtual Health Prize for its app to support the DASH diet for patients.
