You’re invited: Lecture on intellectual diversity

Michigan Medicine faculty and staff are invited to attend the Nancy Cantor Lecture on Intellectual Diversity on Friday, Oct. 27.

The lecture will be given by Thomas A. Laveist, Ph.D., chairman of the Department of Health Policy and Management in the George Washington University Milken School of Public Health.

LaVeist’s specific areas of expertise include U.S. health and social policy, the role of race in health research, social factors contributing to mortality, longevity and life expectancy, quantitative and demographic analysis and access, and the utilization of health services.

His presentation — entitled “My Journey to Understand Why Health Disparities Exist” — is presented by the Michigan Medicine Office for Health Equity and Inclusion, the U-M Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the U-M School of Public Health and the Institute for Social Research.
