Michigan Medicine launches Colleague Connection

In the health care industry, reputations are often built on relationships.

For faculty and staff at Michigan Medicine, those relationships can be between each other or with patients, medical school alumni and provider partners around the state and the country.

In order to expand the organization’s educational mission, the organization has created and launched Colleague Connection, an online resource for provider partners — both affiliated and non-affiliated — as well as alumni and even Michigan Medicine team members.

Through this tool, employees will be able to share grand rounds, CME event notifications and past presentations, published papers and commentary on topics of interest. In addition to a web presence, the organization will work with BroadcastMed to create an email database in which to push out content. BroadcastMed is a digital strategy company geared toward health care providers through websites, live OR cases and e-communications.

Content from Colleague Connection will also be highlighted through BroadcastMed’s other web properties and partners.

“Colleague Connection will be a great resource in maintaining and growing our reputation locally, regionally and nationally,” said Jeff Desmond, M.D., Michigan Medicine’s chief medical officer.

Currently Colleague Connection has five specialty channels: cardiovascular, GI and hepatology, neurosciences, oncology and pediatrics, with more in the works to be added throughout this fiscal year.
