Save the Date: Adolescent substance use training
Join the Adolescent Health Initiative for an interactive training on adolescent substance use at Washtenaw Community College in Ypsilanti on Friday, Nov. 3 from 1 – 4:30 p.m. This session is designed for a multidisciplinary audience of health professionals including physicians, nurses, mental health providers and other youth-serving professionals.
The keynote address, entitled “Adolescent Substance Use: A Clinical Perspective on Neurobiology, Prevention, and Management,” will be presented by John Hopper, M.D., of the U-M Medical School and Wayne State University Medical School.
Don’t miss out on a Q&A youth panel to hear youth share their experiences. Attendees will also gain a deeper understanding of youth substance use during round table discussions on the following topics:
- Alcohol
- Co-occurring disorders: Substance use and mental health disorders
- Engaging parents
