Black Breastfeeding Week — which officially runs from Aug. 25 through Aug. 31 — is a time to highlight, celebrate and showcase the breastfeeding champions in the community who are often invisible.

At Michigan Medicine, Black Breastfeeding Week is being celebrated all month long! As part of the celebration, there is a display of success stories and a photo gallery of Michigan Medicine patients who have had success breastfeeding located near the clinic elevators on the 9th floor of C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital. There is also a sign acknowledging Black Breastfeeding Week on the Big Bird statue at Mott.
