When a patient or loved one faces a cancer diagnosis, it can lead to a lot of questions. But did you know that Michigan Medicine has a dedicated team of experts just a phone call away to guide patients and families through all stages of the treatment process?

A group of oncology nurses is available from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to answer confidential questions about treatment options, support groups, clinical trials, community resources and U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center clinics. The nurses can be reached by phone or online, where questions can be submitted 24/7.

It’s all part of the services offered by the Cancer AnswerLine, a unique resource that fields more than 8,000 calls a year and helps enhance the patient experience both at Michigan Medicine and nationwide.

The Cancer AnswerLine aims to empower the community of cancer patients through knowledge, hope and compassion.

And it’s not just Michigan Medicine community members who benefit! Anyone across the U.S. can call 1-800-865-1125 or submit questions on the web to interact with one of the oncology nurses.
