Healthy eating tips of the month focus on summer

June 1, 2017  //  FOUND IN: Updates & Resources

Summer is almost here! Learn how to grow your own produce and fire up the grill in a healthful way.

During the month of June, the “Grilling and Cancer Risk” Healthy Eating Tip of the Month will be on display at the Comprehensive Cancer Center (on level B1, outside of the main infusion area). This display will include handouts on the following topics: carcinogens, nitrites and nitrates, red and processed meat, and healthy grilling recipes. There will also be a drawing for a prize located by the brochures. The winner will receive a Michigan Wolverines spatula to use on their grill this summer!

Also, be sure to check out the Healthy Eating Tip of the Month in the UH Cafeteria. You can learn about container gardening, when to harvest produce, the health and cost saving benefits of growing your own food, and find recipe ideas that include your freshly picked produce. Don’t forget to enter for a chance to win a home gardening starter kit!
