Following vendor change, next engagement survey to take place in spring 2018

The annual employee engagement survey has been a longstanding tradition at Michigan Medicine, and with good reason. Consistent surveys provide valuable information at the department and institutional level, offering both insights and accountability tools to keep the organization strong.

Recently, the organization signed a multi-year agreement with a new third-party survey vendor, Advisory Board. Because of the timing of this change and the complexities involved, the Michigan Medicine leadership team has decided not to conduct a survey this year.

The survey will return in early spring 2018.

Although there is no survey this year, your leaders remain committed to working toward the organizational goals identified in the most recent 2016 survey. Those goals include:

  • Improving the level of trust and collaboration within and across departments.
  • Providing better professional development opportunities and recognition.
  • Improving manager-employee relationships through better communication skills and the delivery of effective feedback.

Remember, annual surveys aren’t the only time you should provide feedback and suggestions for improvement; rather, it should be a continuous conversation to ensure that Michigan Medicine remains an academic medical center that is second to none for both your colleagues and patients.

More information about the 2018 survey will be shared as it becomes available. Talk to your supervisor for more information.
