Seminar highlights valuing education at Michigan Medicine

All Michigan Medicine faculty and staff are invited to the Academy of Medical Educators' monthly seminar on Wednesday, April 26.

This month's topic is "Valuing Education — the 2017-18 plans for implementing an ‘Education Value Unit’ (EVU) system for faculty at Michigan Medicine."

While metrics for the clinical and research performance of faculty have been more developed within the organization, Joseph C. Kolars, M.D., senior associate dean for education ?and global initiatives, has been chairing a task-force on methodology to measure the teaching activity of medical school faculty members. Implementation of the new approach is expected to begin in July.

Come to the seminar to learn about the new approach. Attendees will also find out what is known now and what remains to be determined, and how the EVU system will relate to the flow of funds.

Join the conversation from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the BSRB seminar rooms and help Michigan Medicine advance the metrics that optimally captures the faculty's contributions as teachers and educators!
